Most polluted locations in Colombo identified
Six locations in Colombo have been identified as highly polluted, according to the real-time Air Quality Index (AQI).
The air quality near the following locations is significantly unhealthy, prompting authorities to advise caution:
* Drivegreen – The Overseas School 2
* Drivegreen – The Overseas School 1
* US Embassy in Colombo
* Laugfs Eco Sri HO
* OSC Sensor 2 (Gym)
* R.G. Senanayake Mawatha
Among these, the air quality near the first location is categorized as unhealthy for the general population, while the air quality in the remaining areas is particularly unhealthy for sensitive groups.
Meawhile, several areas outside Colombo are also experiencing deteriorating air quality.
Locations in Puttalam, Chilaw, Negombo, Matale, Dambulla and Galle have been reported to have significantly unhealthy air quality levels.
