Hon Ranil Wickremasinghe was the only gallant leader who had the courage and stamina to assume the leadership position of the country during the zenith of the economic crisis when other leaders (Sajith and AKD and their cohorts) were running 100 metres to washrooms. Hon Wickremasinghe accepted the challenge without conditions and steered the country to stability. The hopes for lasting improvement and the elimination of the suffering of the majority of the people are getting smaller and smaller the closer the presidential election comes! When you read statements like those by MP Rahman, you ask yourself, do they have no other problems than who enters into political marriages with whom, or announcing victory in advance that very few people believe in? Premadasa as president would open up just as few new and positive perspectives as Ranil! He simply lacks the human and political stature! People know that and the majority will refuse to vote for him! But AKD and the NPP are also causing depression with their political manifesto! Where is the savior in times of need who will give this special country a good, well thought out and affordable future?

Those who have managed the country so far have miserably failed and that's a fact. Seated with x,y or z (or as mentioned earlier different crooks at different times) all have failed to even provide the bare minimum to our people. How can they promise sun, moon and heaven on earth now that they have driven the country to bankruptcy? RW, SP, NR all, have governed this country up until it became bankrupt. RW now say that he is the only one who was brave enough to come forward to save the country. What was he doing earlier....when he was the Prine Minister not once or twice but five times.....What crap are these people mouthing??????

Ranil can never be trusted. He has been in the parliament for 40 years, most of which time he has been a cabinet minister. Considering his term in the parliament, he is responsible for the financial crisis SL is facing today and should never be considered for any negotiations with SJB.

Our goal should be to get rid of at least 200 from the existing MP's. They are there to serve themselves, but not us. RW has gotten us to a bigger mess. Even our great grand children will be paying off the loans we have taken unwisely for the politicians to claim their commissions. If RW managed to get some of the loan sharks, including IMF to write-off the loans, then yes, he has proven himself. Agreeing to paying them off later is not an achievement. The wrongdoers are clinging together for dear life as it appears now. The asset declarations are a bunch of concocted lies. RW and SP have no progressive policies and vision for the country. They will sell our belongings at bargain prices to feed us with crumbs. Just offering candies for the moment which will go sour after, if one of them are elected.

Do you know why Ranil is thinking of a possible political marriage? Because as so many have said, Ranil will be lucky if he gets the 4th place in the presidential election race. We think the maximum votes he can get is 1.2 million. Look at the people behind him; Prasanna, Susil, Dinesh, Bandula, Rajitha, and others, "No vote base". The 200,000 UNP supporters are made out of the Colombo Elite crowed.
