NPP Govt. unresponsive over Easter Sunday allegations

Colombo, October 22 (Daily Mirror) - Despite the seriousness of allegations made against a senior official handpicked by it, the government, led by the National People’s Power (NPP), remained unresponsive yesterday.

However, the media, eager to know the government’s response to the call for the removal of Public Security Ministry Secretary Ravi Seneviratne over alleged negligence of duty during the time of the Easter Sunday attack, is likely to expect a response from Cabinet spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath at today’s Cabinet meeting.

Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader Udaya Gammanpila called for his removal at a press briefing yesterday.
