No like Lee qua Yu in Singapore . Anura as president should first lay a solid foundation that will not allow any demagogue to come to power unlike the last 80 odd years

THANK YOU LORD FOR ANSWERING THE PRAYERS OF THE MAJORITY, WE ASK THAT YOU WORK IN THE MINDS OF ALL DECISION MAKERS AND GUIDE ANURA AND HIS TEAM THROUGH THE NEXT 5 YEARS. Friday, 15 November 2024 05:30 PM
M FERNANDO, NO IT WAS FULL OF GAS AND EXPLODED, BUT THE ONLY DAMAGE IT CAUSED WAS TO ALL THE CANDIDATES WHO WENT ALONG WITH RANIL FOR THE RIDE AND HOPE FOR A PLACE IN GOVT. THANKS TO ALL WHO JOINED IN PRAYER FOR A MIRACLE TO ENSURE A CHANGE IN POLITICS THAT WOULD BRING IN ANURA/NPP TO MAKE THE CHANGE. WE HOPE THAT ANURA/NPP AND HIS ADVISERS AND LEGAL TEAMS WORK TO IMPLEMENT ALL THE PROMISES IN HIS MANIFESTO.

The route of the cause Friday, 15 November 2024 09:12 PM
We all know that west is a much more progressive society than ours. Even there racism still exists. In SL too it is/will be the same. What's seen today is just an illusion like what happed just before independence in 1948. I doubt that illusion will last at best beyond the current generation, especially considering the population growth. If closely analysed, the population explosion is the route cause for every global conflict.

In order to be a birth of a new country, the people in the country need to change too and to help the government . Not to expect the government to do everything for you and to get free money from the government. The government needs to deliver all the promises that was made to the voters at the same time.

First thing first, re-write the Sri Lanka's constitution to be more suit for modern world. Then the threats of those so called experienced politicians who used the JR's constitution as a shield for all of their corruptions and deals would become NULL and VOID. That's the best case scenario expectation from this strong NPP gvt as legislators and honest politicians.

NPP, SJB, ITAK and small parties except slpp and ndf represented the opposition. So former slpp government and its allies were reduced to less than 10 in parliament. Look at the hate the people had. It is high time for NPP and SJB to work together to change the constitution as it will give more than five sixth of the parliament.

WE THE PEOPLE MUST HAVE PATIENCE AS ROME WAS NOT BIUILT IN A DAY. THE MANIFESTO PROMISES WILL BE FOLLOWED THROUGH AND SO WILL NUMEROUS OTHER ISSUES THAT WILL CROP UP FROM TIME TO TIME WHEN INVESTIGATIONS ARE HELD. People at last realised how the Rajapakses and Ranil ruled the country. The people voted Anura to take our country forward. Cut the expenses of Ministers, limit the number of Ministers. No State ministers. No lavish expenses. Allow the Police to work without interference of politicians. Above all punish those who robbed our country.

TRUMP HAS ELECTED ALL HIS FAITHFUL STOOGES SOME OF BAD CHARACTER (LIKE HIMSELF). THIS VICTORY IN THE COLOMBO DISTRICT ONLY GOES TO SHOW HOW MANY POOR, DISADVANTAGED, UNDERPRIVILEDGED AND THOSE LIVING BELOW THE POVERTYLINE. WE THE PEOPLE NEED TO MAKE SURE THE GOVT DOESN'T GET OUT OF HAND AND STICKS TO THEIR MANIFESTO.

Based on what AKD has done during the 2 months and based on the profiles of people working with AKD, no one in the right frame of mind cannot disagree with them. I think AKD wants to make Sri Lanka great, why not be proud of that? Why not be part of that ? At last we got rid of those who ripped us off.

It was a vote against corruption, mismanagement not upholding the rule of law.And an out of date governing style, which made the previous lot look irrelevant and out of touch with reality, just talking and fighting with each other in parliament, like errant school boys, while the country was ruined. What the results showed.

AKD always preaches that Absolute power corrupts absolutely. That is why people have voted also for the opposition and more than 4 million have refrained from voting be'cos latter hates this evil political culture of all colours. Politics alone cannot change the situ without eliminating religious-social mythical illusions. Now NPP got unlimited power to solve, damage control, punish and recover without misusing or abusing power. The govt. is new but ideologies are nothing new although voters expect better practice when taking the way through same suspention bridge.....
