NPP trying to become the main opposition: SJB MP
Colombo, Feb. 12 (Daily Mirror)- National People's Power (NPP) was trying to become the main opposition in the country, Samagi Jana Balawegaya Spokesman and Member of Parliament S. M. Marikar said today.
“What we can gather from the recent visit of NPP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake to India is that his party is trying to become the main opposition in the country,” Marikar told a news briefing.
“We don’t mind NPP becoming the main opposition as we will be in the government when they become the main opposition of this country” he added.
“Anyway, we feel that Dissanayake’s visit to India is a positive move. He must have come back after learning lessons on investments and foreign relations,” the MP also said.

Our Opposition is very weak.Not practical, But clever in mouth lash and Street Protest. Opposition must need reforms. They can learn from NPP's unity and progress. Moreover they are not thorough with constitutional clauses because of that RW and Rajapakses party twists the constitution clauses and stay in power.They hardly need Lawyers who explains them our constitution.It should not be a DEAD ELEPHANT.

What Marikar is predicting here is simply electoral nonsense!!! If the SJB wants to come into government, it will not do without the NPP!!! The NPP will probably be the strongest party after the election, despite the unsuitable presidential candidate AKD! The SJB, which is running with Premadasa, the weakest candidate in the election and has no real chance of winning, will only play a role in the opposition without a later coalition with the NPP, if at all! The SJB should finally decide to make Sarath Fonseka, by far the best man in this party, their presidential candidate! He can lead the SJB to participate in government!!!

RW has being trying to split SJB for pieces from very beginning but it’s doubtful now anyone wants to leave bcz elections just round the corner and RW led parties are not popular among people but SF and rajitha and few others rioting within the party to show their importance, but we feel without he or rajitha ,party may be in better form, and strong promises should have give people to counter the rise of NPP. in grass root level, people totally against, perks of parliamentarians, especially due to current economic situation and belief of bankruptcy is politicians baby, when NPP says they will repeal it, 99% floating votes gathered around them,but SJB so far doesn’t have a strong promise to counter it
