Namal Rajapaksa accuses Ranil, ITAK of undermining Provincial Elections

Colombo, September 05 (Daily Mirror) -  President Ranil Wickremesinghe and the Illankai Tamil Arasu Kadchi (ITAK) have sabotaged the passage of the bill to amend the Provincial Council Elections Act without a debate, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP)’s Presidential Candidate Namal Rajapaksa said.

In a statement, Rajapaksa stated that this was a golden opportunity missed by both Ranil and ITAK for their own political reasons.

“This clearly shows that Ranil and the TNA do not want to hold provincial council elections. Despite their high talk about the 13th Amendment at every stage, their actions reveal a different agenda. When I speak out and tell the truth, they label me as the villain. But now, people can see who the real villains are,” Namal said.

“The difference between Ranil and me is clear. I tell the truth to the Tamil people, while Ranil and the ITAK does not. ITAK has once again failed its people, and Ranil has once again fooled the Tamil people,” he added
