Colombo, August 23 (Daily Mirror) - While acknowledging past mistakes, SLPP Presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa emphasised the need for a collective effort to build a better future for all.

"Let us lead our children away from violence and towards a more hopeful future. Parents can rely on us to guide the country and the next generation into a new era of peace through economic progress.

While we acknowledge past mistakes, this is our opportunity to unite and work together towards a better future for all," he said.

Everyone took advantage of the Chinese luxury projects, imports and development thanks to the deals by the Rajapakse government. People who had connections became millionaires overnight. The middle class lifestyle moved up to a whole other level of luxury. After the collapse, everyone points fingers only at Rajapakses but refuse to look in the mirror. Remember, if you enjoyed the wealth without questioning the source, you are part of the problem.

Collective effort is something that SL people do not understand because they are book worms .many do not have any modern leadership qualities. If you do something good, JVP, SJB , UNPwill oppose it and disrupt and end it. If SJB, UNP do anything good your party will oppose that. JVP however has not done anything good so far other than getting rid of old buses by burning them .

Sri Lanka cannot afford to EVER have another Rajapaska in Government. The damage and hardship the Rajapaska family has inflicted on the people of Sri Lanka will take decades to repair. Singlehandedly this Family used Nepotism to create a Dictatorship. Just recently Mahinda visited China on a Diplomatic mission. Why is he still being courted and engaged by Ranil? The Rajapaska family has over $18 Billion Dollars in Assets stored up outside of Sri Lanka. The entire family should be brought to justice and stripped of all assets, ending in imprisonment. Right now $18 Billion Dollars could do a hell of a lot to bolster the country's economy and relieve the hardship.
