Namal vows to resume Yal Devi to North



Colombo, August 28 (Daily Mirror)- SLPP presidential candidate Namal Rajapaksa today pledged to resume services on the Yarl Devi railway lines which have been halted for months due to inefficiency under the current administration.

He told the Daily Mirror that the Rajapaksa government had successfully established the Yarl Devi railway lines to the Northern Province after concluding the 30-year war.

"After concluding the 30-year war, our government successfully established the Yarl Devi railway lines to the Northern Province. However, these services have been halted for months due to inefficiency under the current administration," he said.

Rajapaksa said that his government is committed to taking immediate action to resume railway services to the Northern Province.

He also said they would expedite the completion of the 114 km Matara to Kataragama railway line without delay.
