National Security Council discusses security for Presidential election



The National Security Council, chaired by President Ranil Wickremesinghe, held a meeting today (19) at the Presidential Secretariat to discuss preparations for the 2024 Presidential election.

According to the President's Media Division (PMD), the key focus of the meeting was ensuring security during the election process. 

Topics discussed included providing support to the Election Commission, securing the safety of candidates and polling stations, and maintaining law and order after the election, all while avoiding any disruptions to daily life.
