Colombo, Nov.30 (Daily Mirror) - It has been proposed to prepare a national education non-academic employee policy that is common to all educational institutions, including government and provincial schools, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
He said this while joining the Education Non-Academic Employees' Day celebration organized by the Education Non-Academic Employees Union, which was held under the chairmanship of the Education Minister.
While preparing the new policy, the Ministry is expected to implement it through a public service constitution based on that policy, including employee transfers, employee salaries, vacations and disciplinary investigations of academic and non-academic staff working in the education sector.
"Under the upcoming education reforms, all the 10,126 school clusters that are currently implemented in Sri Lanka are expected to be divided into nearly 1,200 clusters to facilitate the management of physical and human resources," he said.
The Minister also said that all provincial, regional and divisional educational institutions are expected to be restructured in such a way that they can get more effective, quality, and efficient service.
