(Daily Mirror) - Former Sri Lanka Netball Captain Tharjini Sivalingam married R. Prasad, a popular Indian businessman, in Chennai on Monday. The ceremony was attended by several Sri Lankan netball players, friends, and well-wishers.
The 45-year-old Goal Shoot is celebrated as one of the most successful shooters in netball history and is recognized for being the tallest netball player ever. She holds the record for the most international caps representing Sri Lanka.
Tharjini has been a key member of the Sri Lanka national team since her debut in 2009, participating in numerous international tournaments. Her exceptional height has made her a standout figure in Sri Lankan netball, earning her a place among its top players.
She represented Sri Lanka in the Netball World Cup in 2011, 2015, 2019, and 2023, as well as in the Asian Netball Championships in 2009, 2012, 2014, 2018, and 2022.
Tharjini made history by becoming the oldest player ever to compete in the Netball World Cup at age 40 in 2019, and again at age 44 in 2023.
