Colombo, January 06 (Daily Mirror)- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed a new Chairman and Board of Members to the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation, the President’s Media Division (PMD) said.

The letters of appointment were handed over today by the Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake at the Presidential Secretariat.

Accordingly, A.M.N. Ratnayake was appointed as the new Chairman of the 1990 Suwa Seriya Foundation, while R.J.M.A.P. Sampath and Nalin Perera were appointed as members of the Board.

This step has to be highly commended. Even during the pandemic outbreak. Suwasariya ambulance service provided an immense service. In order to transport and hospitalise the corona patients who were in critical conditions The poorest people who can’t afford to hire a private vehicles were relying on this ambulance service. Even now enhancement of this service will definitely provide a good service to meet the treatment requirements of the poorest patients

I wouldn't be surprised if NPP starts claiming that they started the Suwa Seriya service.
