No LP gas price revision this time: Litro Chairman

Colombo, September 1 (Daily Mirror) - Price of Litro domestic LP gas will not be increased despite the LP gas price increase in the world market, Litro Gas Chairman Muditha Peiris said.

He told the Daily Mirror that LP gas prices in the world market has increased.

"But as a people's friendly company, we have decided not to increase the domestic LP gas prices," he added.

The buffer stock which was purchased when the world market price was lower is arriving and therfore there is no need to initiate a price revision at this time, he said.

How do you define people’s friendly. Actually your company is a profit oriented and people’ provocative entity. Further we know that you are a strong supporter of the ruling government though your company decreases the prices of gas cylinders The majority of the general public will amass around the compass instead of the independent gas cylinder

Every business needs to be profit oriented. Our country is where we are because none of the SOEs were profit oriented. Using foreign loan money to meet yearly expenditure while providing substandard service. Good to see what kind of country we can expect if NPP comes to power.

Oh! what a disappointment. When fuel prices were reduced I thought people will get the gas free as every household must have a gas cylinder before voting for Ranil

Who bears the cost of any subsidies paid to keep gas prices lower than what they should be? Policies towards those people are not 'people-friendly'.
