No changes in A/L exam dates: Susil

It is not possible to postpone the Advanced Level (A/L) examinations despite requests to do so as postponement of the A/L examination would affect the O/L examinations and the completion of the school syllabus for 2024, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said today.

The Minister told Parliament that the A/L examinations would be held as scheduled while responding to requests by both government and opposition MPs including Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa, Dullas Alahapperuma, Wimal Weerawansa and government MP Sarath Weerasekara that the A/L examinations should be postponed as it is unreasonable for students who are expecting to repeat the examinations.

"The time for the repeating students to prepare for the exams is not sufficient, the MPs said. (Ajith Siriwardana and Yohan Perera)

Has any of the 4 named MPs has passed the A/L exam. Sajith and Wimal O/L qualified and the other 2 also should be in the same category.

Very good. Rather than hanging on phones wasting their time and parents' money, students should be able to use that time on studies. Let them put their heart and soul into studies and doing the required examinations, without putting their lives on hold!

As a student this was the most unbelievable decision they got .one of the stupidest decisions so far. no one has covered the syllabus. Even the tution clases are struggling to cover the syllabus becuase the time is so short. If this decision goes through 2023 al results will be the lowest ever recorded in sri-lanka, because the brightest students are skipping this shy because syllabus isn't covered
