No-faith motion against Speaker defeated

The No-Confidence Motion brought against Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardhane by the Opposition was defeated with a majority of 42 votes a short while ago.

The vote on the No-Confidence Motion was taken in Parliament following a three-day debate.

A total of 117 MPs voted against the motion while 75 MPs voted in favour.

RW never learns a lesson. When ever he gets an opportunity to rule the country he does protect theives and rogue characters then looses badly at next election. These guys defended keheliya in similar way and it was courts that sent him to ideal place. All who voted for keheliya and this rogue should be sent home at next election

Taking to account the work involved, COPE should be headed by an educated person without any blemish as most investigations are conducted with the senior educated people in an organization. Therfore all the members should have at least work experience and educational qualifications so that COPE committee will not be the laughing stock of people!

Only the speech of Anura Kumar and Sumanthiran made sense. Thank you Anura and Sumanthiran for exposing this bunch of illiterate members who voted against this no confidence motion with examples. The best example is Keheliya, who is in jail today fits perfectly. These illiterate members voted in favor of this ex-minister of health. Thousands of people who listened to both of you became aware of the illiterate members and the president counsels who voted against this NCM against the speaker. It doesn't matter, they will be punished by the people in the next election. They can dance for another 7 months.
