Colombo, August 27 (Daily Mirror) - Claiming that some people entertain doubts that President Ranil Wickremesinghe will resort to a trick at the last moment to prevent a National People's Power (NPP) victory, NPP leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said today that no can prevent the NPP's victory this time.
Speaking at a rally in Minuwangoda, he said the majority of government servants, police and army personnel support the NPP this time and said that Ranil Wickremesinghe will not be able to resort to any tricks.
"People entertain doubts that Ranil Wickremesinghe will resort to some sort of trick at the last moment. He cannot resort to any tricks. The majority of the government servants support the NPP. The majority of the police and army personnel also support us. Retired police and army officers are with us. So, no one can prevent the NPP from coming to power," he said.
Dissanayake said, for the first time that the NPP will form a government to look after the people, adding that so far governments have been formed to look after families and friend of the rulers.

For; (i) Collecting 500 US $ each from Sri Lankan's who have migrated or abroad. (ii) Printing money (SL) resulting inflation (iii) Sell whatever available (iv) Take over all the Fixed deposits of Sri Lankans. (v) Money that swindled illegaly, to be made legal for using for government expenses. (vi) Devolution of Judicial power to carders with dispute resolution councils, like in 1988-90. (vii) Allowing loans for public without any guarantor so that the depositors will have no money in their accounts. What a way indeed in their system change!

what is the point of retaining these loss making institutions and continuing to pay their salaries and expenses from tax payers money. If you cannot run in profitably, give it to those who can. IOC and CPC sell fuel at the same price. CPC is huge burden to tax payers (other cannot complain) whereas IOC is making good profit.

NPP will have a landslide win because they are clean and pure ...they are hard working and talented ..Ranil can't fool people this time . People support them ..Ranil had his meeting in Mawanlleah and they didn't show the crowd in fear that it can give a bad impression about them because of less people ..what can expect now . All lies about NPP are fading away . NPP doesn't change the civil servants or police or army or any other government officers...but they will give them right political leadership.. in place of corruption you will have honesty; in place of fraud you will have sincerity; in place of lies; you will have truth; in place of mess and choas ; you will have law and order . Ranil and his chort are so scared now ..

In 2015 people voted for MY3 hoping he will end corruption and make a better country. Trend was with MY3. In 2019 people voted for Gota hoping he will make the country secure and work with a new plan. Trend was with Gota. Now in 2024 trend is with Anura. What you notice is that people have made the wrong choice by going with the trend. This time people will learn a good lesson, if they go with the trend and vote an inexperienced leader and a team. Also if AKD get elected, he will not last at least 6 months.

Ranil and his cohort, who led this economic crisis, 2022, under NPP you will never see any economic crisis of 2022. because NPP does not accept all corrupt people. what created this economic crisis, nothing but purely corrupted policies of MR and Ranil. corruption and good government can not go hand in hand, do you point the finger at NPP for any corruption. what do you need more. I think NPP's economic policies are more dynamic than any one else. Ranil and Sajith are two sides of one coin. All looters with them.

Definitely you will be elected as the prospective president of our country. Thus for last seven decades the leaders who governed this blissful and delightful country plunged this country into anarchy day by day and year by year Therefore your prime duty is to eliminate the burning issues being encountered by the people. Further you have to treat the people equally whether they are casting their votes in favour of you or not in favour of you

Remember in the recent Thai elections, majority voted for a party and they won. However, there was personal issue with the nominated PM on his eligibility to contest and his party eventually lost. Therefore, ensure alls in order in your party so there will not be a similar situation. Can imagine the chaos if such a thing happens in SL.

RANIL has a tricks but it is not a local tricks but to seek the support of his western friends to save him ...Sri Lanka is not an important county like india for the west in its economy and yet geopolitically it is important location if any war break out between China and USA...both want to use us ...for this reason; USA need Ranil as its agent or puppet ..so; Ranil will use his influence to win this election by any means ..democracy has two faces ..one is true and clean democracy...that is only for 28 western countries....the second class democracy is for the rest of the world . If we try apply true democratic principles in any non western countries it must go in accordance with the western interest ..Egypt elected a president democratically and yet he was toppled ..if we go against western interest..NPP will not be able rule for a long time..Ranil can use his card any time to topple NPP rule ..IMF can come up many new conditions on our loans . Ranil is dancing to the tune of IMF ..

Fully agreed. But which future leader who ever could ever expect to govern the country without listening to the West and India in reality? What happened to past leaders who opposed their projects and agendas and did not listen to them and have to fled the country or who were made to loose in 2015? Why only one President? Even the future Presidents has to dance to their tune if they are to continue in power or else an Aragalaya will hit them with the support of them. Travel adversaries, increased human rights charges, droping of Gst, adverse NGO reports, curtailing aid and investments, protests and strikes carried out by their political agents are just part of the methods/tools they use to do regime changes.

This man is hallucinating. When defeat is eminent, leaders resort these tactics. Gobbels, at the threshold of defeat in WWII, claimed that they (i.e. the Germans) were on the verge of victory. The rest is history. When NPP faces a defeat at the presidential poll on 21 September, the excuse will be "Ranil Wickremasinghe resorted to some trick and won!!!"

What nonsense are you talking about looking after the public. All revolutionaries do not care two hoots for the public but greedy for power. Tell me in the past you all made life unbearable for the public. Everyday was a torment for us because your members came to all house and gave notes to switch off the lights and we public had to work in the dark, if orders were not followed the next day your clan came and shot the people. Also on your instructions the buses trains were not functioning. The incovenience we had was terrible as many people had to take a tractor ride from their residence to the closest destination by lorries and tractors and some went as pillion riders of motor cycles . Even the food was not allowed to be imported from India and people even did not get a meal as there were many scarcities. These Revolutionaries were harassing the public and now talk of looking after the public. The new generation do not know the hardships and now duped by big talker. Disaster!!!

Only difference between these guys and AKD is that this(fellow) hates anyone over 50 years. Anyone over fifty year has seen the true colors of JVPers. A bunch of hate-mongers, who dearly hates the principles of every major religion. Now this atheist has started to visit the Buddhist temples and churches in order hoodwink the masses. He is worst than Mahinda, Ranil, JRJ and SWRDB well known pretentious Buddhist politicos responsible for misery in Sri Lanka.

You are corrupt too. One has already gone and complained the bribery commission about a serious misconduct by you. You have used a government house even though you had a house within 44km to parliament since 2007. A serious crime. You will not be able to take oath even if you win as other parties will go to courts preventing you from taking oath. So resign and allow someone else from your party to contest who is not corrupt.

It does not exactly speak of political wisdom and foresight when Anura Kumara, in a kind of megalomania, announces his victory in the upcoming elections and also expresses the unproven belief that the majority of army personnel, civil servants, etc. are behind him and the NPP's policies!!! It would be interesting to know which qualified poll data he can base this on! As a rule, "loyal servants" tend to be more conservative in political thinking and mostly reject "communist/socialist" experiments, the outcome of which is always highly questionable!!! The economic policy he is aiming for, the success of which is highly controversial, does not fit in at all with the security-mindedness of loyal civil servants and employees! Conclusion: people who are more politically thoughtful this time should take AKD's statement for what it is, pure election propaganda!!!
