No power cuts today, says Gamini Lokuge

Following discussions held with President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, it has been decided not to impose power cuts today, Minister of Power Gamini Lokuge confirmed to Daily Mirror a short while ago.

Lokuge said that a solution had been reached to solve the present power crisis at the meeting held with the President.

Does it make any sense? If president says 'no power cuts' then no power cuts whether you have diesel to operate those power plants or not. So non of the ministers are doing a good job it seems..........

If Government gives attractive concessions for the domestic Solar Panel uses the part of the power crises can be solved. Now Rs.22/- and Rs.15/- per unit is paid for extra generation of power up to 7 years and beyond 7 years respectively. Apart from the low rate for generation no support from the authorities to promote the solar power generations as high investment is required for the panel installations. If Government can grant interest free loans for the domestic consumers to install the solar panels its support to the nation.
