No security officer of PMSD contracted Covid-19: PM Office

An external security officer attached to the Prime Minister’s Security Division tested positive for Covid-19 but none of the Prime Minister's Security Officers working at the Prime Minister's Office at Temple Trees or Wijerama Mawatha had contracted Covid-19, the Prime Minister's Office said.

“There is no truth in the rumour that a police officer attached to the Prime Minister's Office has contracted Covid-19. A security officer attached to an external unit of the Prime Minister's Security Division has been contracted with the virus," Prime Minister’s Media Secretary Rohan Weliwita said.

However, the officer, who is only involved in the pre-security arrangements for outdoor events attended by the Prime Minister, has not reported for duty since October 17.
