One person was killed and another injured after a lorry collided with a train at the Kahawa, Godagama unprotected railway crossing.

The Sagarika Express train from Beliatta to Maradana met with the accident.

Meanwhile,another man was killed when a train collided with a three-wheeler at an unprotected railway crossing at the Arachchikattuwa, Kottage area this morning.

Vehicle drivers should be cautious in crossing railway lines, stop at the railway crossing, look bothsides and proceed. Patience is more important in all aspects of life.

These guys always try to cross the line even when the red light is on. We spot rash drivers on the road everywhere everyday. Why don't the police try to identify these rash drivers by observing their driving behaviour on the road and send them for rehabilitation with a fine. In the long term you will have positive results. Also encourage and reward public at large to record these vehicles and share the videos with the police.
