Opposition decides to bring in no faith motion against Speaker

Colombo, Feb 26 (Daily Mirror) - Opposition parties have decided to bring in a no confidence motion against Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena a short while ago.

SJB MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha who confirmed the move at a media briefing said the Opposition parties decided to bring in the no faith motion as the Speaker had violated Parliamentary procedures by neglecting instructions given by the Judiciary with regard to the Online Safety Bill.

"The no faith motion will be handed over within the coming days," Bandara said.

The decision on the no faith motion was made during a meeting of the Opposition parties today.

Excellent move. Then the whole world can realise what a herd of cattle the opposition is led by the cow Sajith. They just want to be in the limelite every fortnight or so by doing something stupid and useless like this. The last time it was a rally that was attended by a small number of people, although they threatened the roads were going to be blocked etc etc.

A NCM against the speaker will not be successful. It could end up like Kehelmala Rambukwella’s case. The opposition might be able to show an attempt was made to remove the speaker of the parliament. Charge him for nepotism, find all his relatives employed illegally and get rid of them. Expose all his corrupt activities. This is better than a NCM.
