Opposition to nominate member for Speaker’s post

The Opposition will nominate an MP for the Speaker's post on Tuesday when Parliament meets to elect a successor to Ashoka Ranwala who resigned from his post last week.

"We know we will not be able get our nominee elected, but we hope to create a situation for the people to compare the candidates. If we had contested for the post on November 21 then the people would have said the Opposition nominee would have been better than Ranwala who falsly claimed a doctorate," SJB MP Nalin Bandara Jayamaha told the media.

Stop challenging and work on getting your voter base back. This should be SJB focus. You need to bring back those people who left the party over the past 3-4 years for obvious reasons. At least now identify the issues and address them to be in a better position for the next election - by challenging the Government you will only lose, nothing to gain. Take my words.

Are those elections or mere 10B projects that will further put economy in flames, just continuing with the present political landscape without any streamlining to address issues relating to major policy changes for the said system change needed to draft a viable budget?
