Over 600 polls-related complaints reported

Colombo, August 19 (Daily Mirror) - A total of 631 complaints related to the upcoming Presidential election have been received by the Election Commission as of yesterday evening.

The Commission said that the complaints were received during the period from July 31 to August 18.

They said that 65 complaints reported just yesterday (18) were related to violations of election laws.

Out of the 631 complaints, the National Centre for Election Complaint Management received 346, while the District Centres for Election Complaint Management received 285.

All complaints were categorised as breaches of laws, with one incident of violence being reported.

There is no use publishing numbers without any action. EC need not act like dept of census and statistics.

OK, over 600 complains reported. What action has been taken by EC? If the action taken can be highlighted together with the figures of complains against each contestant that will help voters to judge them before voting
