Despite being from a prominent and respectable family and had the opportunity to go to prestigious Royal College and study in the English medium and then have a US education which many didn't have in his generation, his behaviour as Maharagama MP was very racial. There is nothing wrong in loving your race or language, but make sure it does not affect racial harmony and coexistence. If you read the Hansard of the 1980's, all his speeches were extreme. I could conclude that it was opportunistic behaviour rather than love of motherland and race, religion

One of the best PM ever. So many good legislation passed under him. Just look up all the great work done by him. Dont be blind haters. Because of pressure of crisis and good advice from IMF and Lazzard this government passed some much needed reforms that was never done in last 75 years.
