Paper setters to take final decision on controversy over O/L science paper: Susil



Parliament, May 13 (Daily Mirror)- Clarifying the controversy over the GCE Ordinary Level (O/L) Science and English papers, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said today that steps will be taken to ensure that no injustice is caused to any students.

Responding to a question by SJB MP Rohini Kumari Kaviratne, he said issues have been reported on several questions and Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) of the science paper and paper setters will meet to take a final decision on the matter.

MP Kaviratne said that the structure of the English question paper has been changed this year and that it is unreasonable for most students in rural areas where there are no trained English teachers.

The Minister said the Commissioner of Examinations has assured to pay special attention to these matters when preparing the marking scheme after the routine sample making so as no injustice will be caused to the students.
