Parliament sessions suspended due to tense situation

PARLIAMENT (Daily Mirror) - Parliamentary sessions were suspended a short while ago due to a tense situation.

Government MPs initiated protests inside the chamber as Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa raised a question under 27/2 regarding the Supreme Court verdict on the economic crisis in the country.

Supreme Court ruled Rajapaksas responsible for economic mismanagement , but will these learned Judges with such “ unbelievable economic acumen” could see also that IMF is going to squeeze the life out of ordinary Sri Lankans and destroy the happy way of life in our country for good.

It's mindblowing to observe an MP walking across the floor and forcibly using the Opposition Leader's microphone to hurl insults at the latter and his family, with the Speaker not even attempting to do anything about it! As for Sajith, he should not eat up a huge amount of time when asking questions or raising an issue, when he could do that in less than half the time. It's quite irritating for everyone.
