COLOMBO (Daily Mirror)- Parliament sessions were suspended to hold a party leaders' meeting to decide on bringing a resolution to remove the SLC officials.

Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapaksa decided to suspend sessions to hold a special party leaders' meeting when the Opposition requested for a resolution to sack the office bearers of SLC.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa proposed to bring in a resolution following the special statement made by Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe on the fraud and corruption of the SLC.

Dear Hon Members of P{arliament: You have a very important matter to discuss and make decisions about. You are aware that SLC is a highly corrupt and mismanaged organization. As a result, the standard of cricket in Sri Lanka has deteriorated drastically. Please do not play politics but all get together and come up with proposals and laws to deal with the current situation.

Do it without delay. The lawyers too must be mindful when taking cases. If they have represented a party in a previous matter and if that party is a respondent in the current matter though it is a different issue there is an element of conflict of interest. I often see lawyers acting in disregard of the principle. Matter for BASL and the SC
