Party secretary, several others arrested for taking bribe from Janaka Ratnayake
Colombo, August 14 (Daily Mirror) - Several officials including the secretary of the Eksath Lanka Podujana Pakshaya have been arrested while soliciting a bribe of Rs. 30 million from Presidential candidate former PUCSL Chairman Janaka Ratnayake.
They have been arrested by the officials of the Bribery Commission in Borella while solicitiong the bribe to offer nomination to Ratnayake from the party.
The arrest has been made following a complaint by the Chairman of the Citizen's Movement Against Fraud, Corruption, and Waste Kamantha Thushara.
