Police hunt company owner, his wife for over Rs 50 Mn fraud

The Kandy Special Crimes Investigation Unit has launched an investigation to arrest an owner of a company and his wife who had defrauded more than Rs. 50 million from several persons promising plots of land.

Police said at least nine complaints have been received against the couple.

They said the couple, Muthuthantrige Jude Fernando, the owner of a private company and his wife E.H. Srimathi Thissakumari were absconding and released their photographs seeking public assistance to locate them.

Police request anyone aware of their whereabouts or any other information to contact the HQI of Kandy Police via 0718591045 or 0812222222.
