Police to probe attack on bus returning from NPP rally

Colombo, September 13 (Daily Mirror) - Police investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the suspects involved in an attack on a bus returning from a National People’s Power (NPP) election rally in Monaragala this morning (13).

The bus, carrying supporters from a public meeting at the Monaragala Pradeshiya Sabha stadium attended by NPP Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake, was reportedly attacked by a group of unidentified individuals.

Four persons were injured during the attack and they were admitted to the Buttala Divisional Hospital.

If this kind of attack will result in more votes in support of JVP/NPP, as you say, what is stopping JVP/NPP from repeating this attack to gain more votes? More the attack, more JVP?NPP gains. Then why would any other party help JVP/NPP to get more votes? It defies any logic!

All these are sympathetic strategies adopted by the NPP to the fading popularity. The cat is out of the bag since they are importing supporters from far flung areas to attend these NPP meetings to dupe the villagers. One wonders how a NPP in the past who had nothing in their coffers risen to the occasion in funding an election of this magnitude. While some parties are corrupt it is paramount to investigate a party who boasts about no corruption in their party and absolves themselves by being Puritans. Here is the catch do not trust these revolutionaries who speak of one thing and do the opposite!!!!!!
