Dubai is successfully bribing officials to stage international conferences. Think about it ,before Dubai was built it was a small fishing port and backward people.
International conferences should be staged in intellectual and cultural cities in the world.

As per your info, Dubai was a small fishing port with backward people.
Comparison with our country with forward people and in paradise, could you even come close to Dubai today .
Look at ourselves and our country.
Do you have anything good to say.
First we have to clean our country before we make negative comments about another country.

@ Sam Silva - You are spot on. OUR politicians spoke RACISM at election platforms and won the election to ROB. They divided the society (from SWRD, JR, MR) to WIN the election.

For what? I can tell you now his attendance will have ZERO benefit to Sri Lanka and poor Sri Lankan taxpayers.

He doesn't miss a single opportunity to go abroad and to promote his international "status". Eyeing a job in an international organization with the help of US and India?

To reflect the dire economic situation in SL which he is partially responsible for, he should shack up in a motel.

First time Ranil sets foot on an Arab country!
As long as he keeps his mouth shut, something good will happen to to Sri Lanka.

This guy knows that there is no second time after the next elections. Is there a reporting system on these tax payer funded visits? It should be fully transparent

A Kg of Lime is Rs 2,000 which can be easily grown in Sri Lanka.Government paying little attention in bringing cost of living down. They are not looking at each cost element in the supply chain of essential food, clothing, medicines and bringing costs down, but focusing on elections and international issues which countries with better expertise can handle. Sri Lanka must first sort domestic issues and only then international ones.

Unelected master debating president on mile high club to Dubai to attend to change the temperature his bedroom. He loves to have more steamy climate on his double bed when he master debate. He doesn’t care about emergency landing he loves mile high club and we must not forget to build his statue without his trousers to see how much work been done on mile high club when he come back from Dubai.

I can see no harm in Ranil attending such conferences as an observer, albeit at a cost SL cannot afford right now (with even elections due, not held due to lack of funds). But as a contributor in speech, it is a right laugh. What expertise does he have on anything except on elementary law? He calls himself an expert in democracy, which in itself is a contradiction in practice!
00
Cherath Friday, 01 December 2023 09:13 AM
With an entourage of 80, this looks like a ploy to appease some MPs of other parties in government with the Presidential election in mind, before Ranil W rides into the sunset in 9 months.

Its very clear he selected to presidency by GR to protect the thieves and he is squeezing the throats of the middle class to settle debts so this is fact and so what is the use in keeping him him as as a sselected President

NINE MONTHS MORE? Friday, 01 December 2023 03:38 PM
No opportunity is lost for Ranil to see the world and so are the cronies accompanying him. It is now or newer for another nine months regardless of the fact that poor Tax Payers' money are being wasted .
