How do you appoint so many advisors numbering more than 60 with all perks an privilege. This group comprises of mostly defeated UNP candidates. There are many, but the curse that Ranil cannot avoid foremost, is what he inherited from his Devadatta uncle JR - the revengeful introverted leader Sri Lanka ever had. To make over 80,000 of his countrymen jobless with the stroke of his pen overnight (just for demanding a 10 rupee pay rise) and subject them and their families to begging, street hawking and plainly worthless culminating in even suicide in many cases, must go on record as the most brutal action by a leader elected by its people.
