President to make special statement in Parliament

President Ranil Wickremesinghe will deliver a special statement in parliament this morning to explain to the nation the current state of the economy and progress on the IMF negotiations, President's Media Division (PMD) said.

Unusual for any president to visit parliament frequently and give talks...He has become like PM now and he is eager to go over there and talk and tell his colleagues about his plan..After all he is good in talking; debating and telling people what to do and yet the country suffers

It is correct for president to attend the parliament and inform the country what has been happening to the economy. We have seen some previous presidents hiding away when the economy is collapsing.
