The relationship that we have going to be established between India and Sri Lanka, I would say the Indian relationship is vital and paramount. India is very close to us, and highly valued democracy is in practice like in Sri Lanka. India has the highest population of 1,417 million, whereas China’s population is 1,409 million. India has provided US $4 billion during our recent economic crisis and support for our cause in the IMF. We should not forget about it. Furthermore, the installation of solar power in many of the Buddhist temples to get brightness for the Sri Lanka devotees and the railway line fixed from Omanthai to Point Pedro are significant projects that we received from India. Moreover, more than 40 percent of our tourists are Indians, who give significant contributions to the economy of the country.
