President vows salary hike for government employees
Colombo, May 12 (Daily Mirror) - President Ranil Wickremesinghe said today that measures will be taken to increase government employees’ salaries.
Addressing an International Nurses' Day celebration, the President expressed optimism for the country's economic growth, aiming for a 3% increase by 2025, the President's Media Division said.

Government employees must first be downsized. It's ridiculous for public to bear the burden of these redundant workers just to win elections. Half of the state depts are running at huge losses and he is giving them increments??

Appointment of new Grama Niladhari's; wage increase for tea pluckers; increase benefits for senior citizens, and now salary hike for government servants...the list goes on. Ranil will not save his head with this election promise, which is unjustified for this group of people!!! What could he have done for the poor and the poorest in this country and to improve their living conditions!!!
