Presidential candidate Illiyas passes away

Colombo, August 23 (Daily Mirror) - Muhammad Illiyas, an independent candidate for the 2024 Presidential election, passed away at the Puttalam Hospital last night at the age of 78, following a sudden heart attack.

Illiyas was a Member of Parliament during the Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga government, elected to Parliament from the Jaffna district.

Mohammad Illiyas was hospitalized two days ago due to a sudden illness.

With his sudden death, the list of Presidential candidates is reduced to thirty-eight.

All candidates above age of 70 is playing with life of 22 million Sri Lanka...Please don't vote for all those old candidates..this could happen any one but the probability is more for old candidates..why waste out vote for old candidates.?

Are you not going to be old one-day my friend? Respect the elders. The President of the most powerful country is over 80 years old. It is the JVP mentality that those who are above 60 are useless and a liability ( communist theory).
