Probe into PM’s private residence fire taken over by CID

The investigation into the incident of setting fire to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe’s private residence in Colombo last night has been handed over to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), police said.

The Kollupitiya Police were investigating the incident and the probe will now be taken over by the CID.

Earlier, the police arrested three persons over the arson attack. (DSB)

Why don’t CID investigate who hurriedly left the country with suit cases? Rightfully said. He deserved it. The power hungry crook not even won a single seat but became the prime minister making a deal with the thug who ruined the country! Innocent men, women, old, young, babies etc are suffering because of these criminals

A big thing has happened “ Kollupitya Police Investigation Taken Over By The CID”. In the context of what has happened in Sri Lanka in the last 72 hours, it is laughable the CID is behaving like important people. The country has collapsed , President and Prime Minister all in hiding, their homes rightly taken over by the people, but CID wants to investigate a fire at a house . The CID are comedians and we pay to maintain them.

CID MUST ESTABLISH WHO WAS BEHIND THIS... I have a strong feeling that the protesters didn't do this... its a setup to spoil the good image of the peaceful protesters... I wish they conduct an investigation... Looking at the picture taken by a person... the fire erupts from the back of the house, if it was the protesters, then it should see the fire in view ...
