Probe underway after helicopter escorting President makes emergency landing
An investigation has been launched after a back-up helicopter escorting President Ranil Wickremesinghe made an emergency landing on Saturday.
The Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 412 (SUH 522) made an unplanned landing in a paddy field in Eppawala yesterday due to a technical issue.
It was later flown back to Colombo after an hour.
No injuries or property damage were reported.
The Sri Lanka Air Force is investigating into the cause for the emergency landing.

So 2 helicopters being used from the airforce for his election rallies! Do other candidates get the same privileges? Who paying for the fuel and rental of these helicopters? The EC and IMF should comment on these issues as first it’s using of taxpayers funds for political gain and IMF should check how much from the loans are being used for this exercise by a sitting President. Nothing to do with country’s development but more for personal development.
