JVP affiliated student Union. Always protest for something. I think all they learn is how to protest as per JVP teachings. Once they get Nahapola then they will ask for something else. They just pass their time and get a Degree with no skills other than doing protests. Then they get teaching appointments and align with Stalin who is also affiliated with JVP and all they do is strike, strike.

Since elections are round the corner no tear gas water cannons etc. Both parties are peaceful. In the past when a peaceful march move forward the water cannons were activated

The news clearly states the protest is for better hostel facilities and mahapola arrears. How many people who commented earlier solely relied on these during your university days. These personally helped me and many more friends who didn't have wealthy families to support them. So please think as a poor student before commenting here. Now the question is, why the hell is the government playing with the mahapola scholarship money? isn't it supposed to be paid on time? Have you ever heard of MP/ minister salary arrears????

Even if the country provides them with accomodation in five star hotels, feed them with caviar and champaign, give them mahapola grants at lakhs of rupees they will still find some thing to scream about on the public streets
