Public can now complain against police personnel

The Sri Lanka Police has introduced the ‘118’ hotline for the public to lodge complaints against police personnel in case of their misconduct.

According to the Police Media Division, if necessary, information can be given anonymously, and the confidentiality of the information obtained from complaints made through the 24-hour hotline will be protected.

The hotline was initially introduced by the Ministry of Public Security to allow the public to report various crimes through complaints.

How about train and monitor police properly instead of using public to do you work, police act like thugs beating people to death at their whim, taking bribes, false accusations, being drunk and operating vehicles, each station should be closely monitoring their staffs actions, hotline for complaints don't help people who are unable to use q phone, police need reforms from top to bottom, I guess it's too much work for rhe minister

Rather than lodging a complaint, fixing webcams on police uniforms will work out at least for a short period. The problem is not with the police personnel, but rather the loop holes of "Law and order"
