The Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) is currently hosting a public consultation over the proposed increase in electricity tariffs.
The event, which started at 9 a.m. on Wednesday (18), aims to gather inputs from various parties, including the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB).
According to Manjula Fernando, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), a total of 30 parties will be consulted during the process.
However, the PUCSL has expressed concerns over the data provided by the CEB to justify the tariff hike, stating that it does not align with the country's current situation.
