Quadruplets born to a 24 year old mother in Puttalam

A 24-year-old mother of Musthiyapuram in Paladiya has given birth to quadruplets at the Puttalam hospital.

Gynecologist Dr. Ruwan Samarasinghe said the mother delivered a male child and three female children in the Caesarian section. He said he was pleased to have performed the Cesarean section with the help of his staff amid minimum facilities available in the hospital. The mother of quadruplets Jibri Risla is a resident of Musthiyapuram in Palaviya and the father is a driver employed abroad.

At present, the quadruplets are under the care of the Pediatrician of the hospital Dr. Shurin Jayawardne. He said the quadruplets and the mother were in perfect health.

This Mother is a really Great Woman, holding 4 babies in her stomach for 9 months, is next to an impossible task. The doctors and nursing staff delivered the babies in good condition with the state of facilities in Srilanka and keep the mother and child in safe.

Far as I can surmise, its the mother who should be celebrated - NOT the doctors, nurses et al who are doing their JOB. Where is the jubilant mother? All I see is an empty bed (maybe I missed it)... and medical professionals blowing their own horn - as usual! Sad how we still have this mentality.
