Colombo , September 23 (Daily Mirror) - MP Namal Rajapaksa who contested the Presidential election as the candidate of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said he is prepared to learn if the people intended to teach him a lesson this time and then make a come-back better prepared next time.
In a message to the people after the conclusion of the election, he said his party’s previous 6.9 million vote base had played a role in creating the public mandate at this election, though it was rejected by the then political opposition.
He said he, in the face of severe criticism and mud slinging, attempted to introduce a novel political culture this time.
He expressed his gratitude to the people who kept their faith in him and his party at this election.

You or your family never learn any and will wait for available opportunity to come back to do harm to the nation again. Biggest lessons of all is going to be, how to defend you and your family from legal actions. As a lawyer apply your legal skills, as a learned lawyer.

The rajapaksa's created avenues for all their crooked relatives and cronies to steal. Many became millionaires overnight. There are possibly thousands of miscreants who became rich by illegal means during their regime. It's these people and their families who voted for this sleezebag. Namal deserves to be behind bars and I hope it happens.

People's real wish is that you along with your whole Rajapakse clan and it's stooges should go to jail for the various crimes you have committed against the country and it's people. Let's see how prepared are you to face that intention.

Start with the first lesson that corruption and criminality is short lived. You may get away with it for a while using your power and manipulations, but end of the day people hold the key and the natural justice awaits all of you. Failure to capture not even 1% of Sri Lankan votes gives that message to you loud and clear with a slap.

Marxism brings prosperity Monday, 23 September 2024 12:21 PM
Namal, together you all fell. All of you could have thought on the longer-term and avoided the resurrection of the draconian Marxism. If Sajith supported Ranil and you abstained from contesting, then the centre-right block would have easily emerged victorious. Yes, a landslide victory. Also, understand that only 42% voted for the NPP leader. This means that 58% of the public has not endorsed him. But if you all remain divided, then the 42% will easily increase to a percentage that the entire centre-right block will be wiped out at the next parliamentary election. That would herald the end of democracy and economic prosperity. Nowhere in the world Marxism has succeeded. Act now! Work together!!!

Mislabeled Marxism Monday, 23 September 2024 06:30 PM
Act now? To Rob again? Work together with whom? Namal and you can interpret percentages and old blocks of votes any way you like, but you cant interpret the sentiment behind this radical shift because obviously you can`t understand it. People didn't vote for Marxism or socialism of the NPP, they voted against a corrupt system, a mutated constitution and a dynasty centric tribal political culture. You also seem not to have heard of countries called China and India where modern Marxism is showcased. We are heading to 2025 now, so its advisable to update your historical hypothesis.

What did you learn? Did corruption over come you? If so, why don't you return your stolen money back to the Sri Lankan people? When you return with you money, we can talk about it. If not, get lost for ever with your loot and with your parents, uncles aunts and rest for ever.

Hope this free and fair election shows you and the rest of your family how despised you all are in the public eye. Thank for contesting this time and showing it up. The NPP has said they will go into past corruption and other unsolved instances of violence. Its left to be seen how successful they would end up being in that front.

You Rajapakse's will never learn lessons. This is because you are born to culture of impunity, unaccountability, arrogance and racism. Look how you'll gave pardons to murderers, criminals and crooks despite getting sentenced by Supreme Court. Look how you'll wasted precious public money on billions on projects that never had usefulness or returns to the country and people. Look how you abused the power of your Office corrupting government servants and even armed forces to do many misdeeds in absolute impunity. Enough is enough and hopefully the dark days of Rajapakse governance is over.

You are fully aware of all the illegal things you did when you were in power. Whilst enriching yourselves you also used the judiciary to support your unlawful activities. During the election rallies you had the nerve to tell your audience that you would eradicate corruption should you be elected. The people have spoken and if AKD keeps his promises there will be prosecutions expected for corruption. Take a back seat and watch the action!

Dear Namal, Like Marcos'grandson, your family have got to wait for a couple of decades to come back to win- maybe your son or grandson has a chance. However, there is a much easier way for you to return to politics: Plead mea culpa. Own up Rajapakse family's fraud, accept all your corrupt means of achieving affluence and RETURN the ill-gotten wealth. That's the only straight way on a flat path for you to return to politics in your lifetime. Everything else will be a waste. You will grow old too fast out of frustration!

Namal Rajapaksa must acknowledge that Sri Lanka's current challenges are tied to his family's longstanding mismanagement. The Rajapaksa dynasty is linked to corruption, poor governance, and a lack of accountability. Ignoring this history will undermine his political ambitions, as the Rajapaksa name has become synonymous with the issues hindering the country's progress. Many believe the dynasty no longer fits in Sri Lanka's political landscape. For any chance of redemption, the Rajapaksa family must recognise their role in the nation's struggles and offer a public apology to begin restoring trust with the electorate.
