Road along Temple Trees opened to public after 19 years

Colombo, October 05 (Daily Mirror)- A part of R.A. de Mel Mawatha in the Kollupitiya Police area from St. Michael’s Roundabout to the Rotunda Roundabout along Temple Trees was opened to the public after 19 years, the Ministry of Defence said.

This stretch of the road was closed for security reasons in 2005 and was opened to the public yesterday with the intervention of the Ministry of Defence.

Vehicular movement will be allowed in one direction due to road repair works being carried out and once the repair works are concluded vehicles will be allowed to use both lanes, the Ministry said.

Government officials should think that no inconvenience to public because of their presence and close roads and building for security reasons, if they do then they need to be located somewhere remote where no public is around. The previous governments have misused this in the name of security concerns and MR and Gota were famous for doing such activities. Well done AKD . The change comes from little things like this and more to come
