Colombo, August 04 (Daily Mirror) - SLPP Kalutara District MP Rohitha Abeygunawardena has announced that he will support President Ranil Wickremesinghe in the upcoming presidential election.

Correct. These kind of caliber’s are found in 3rd world countries which will never change. SL needs developing or developed countries kind of caliber politicians similarly seen in Australia, UK, Singapore etc to revamp the political system once and for all. With the abundance of educated citizens, wonder why most of the uneducated are being voted in to run the country. The 3 main parties, UNP, SLPP, SLFP, are continuing to grab power by forming alliances full of corrupt and failed politicos. For the sake of the country"s future every voter must be wise in voting for a party with a clean slate. Yes, the NPP has a violent past mostly due its former JVP ideology, but at least corruption is not associated with them. If the former LTTE members could be forgiven and elected to office, why cannot one do the same with the JVP which no longer consist of those who were part of their violent past.?
