SJB lodges complaint against IGP, Ministries

Colombo, July 22 (Daily Mirror) - The Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) formally lodged a complaint with the Election Commission against IGP Deshabandu Thennekoon, accusing him of politicizing the police force.

In a letter addressed to the Chairman of the Election Commission, SJB General Secretary Ranjith Madduma Bandara alleged that the IGP was misusing police resources under the guise of organizing community police workshops across the country for political purposes.

Madduma Bandara further requested that the Election Commission intervene and put a stop to other alleged propaganda activities being conducted by various ministries.
