Colombo, Jan. 3 (Daily Mirror)- Voicing their opinion on the recent crossovers of some MPs to the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), two members of Parliament from the party Dr. Harsha de Silva and Eran Wickramaratne said those who are responsible for the economic debacle will not be welcomed to their party.

“We are not willing to flock together with those who are responsible for the economic downturn,” MP Eran Wickramaratne said.

He was referring to questions raised by journalists at a news briefing on the recent crossovers to the SJB fold.

“Those who want to join us should be clean and be prepared to accept our economic policies,” Dr. de Silva said.

absolutely true. Don't defile the party by absorbing the Pohottuwa members who were responsible for the economic downfall. Keep in mind that they totally agreed with all the moves that lead to this crisis. Sajith should be very mindful of his actions to prevent disharmony within the SJB members who stuck with him thorough thick and thin.

Lots of decisions including money printing during Yahapalanaya days (as well) has contributed to the gradual decline of the country. Foreign reserves also declined even during yahapalanaya days. So Harsha and Eran you two must also remove your selves from the SJB if you really want to be so responsible. Certainly you lot don't need another dick as you have your leader behaving like a childish dickhead

That is the way to go SJB. All those MPs who brought the Pohottuwa to power by deceiving the people and destroyed our economy should not be taken to the SJB. GL, Godahewa, Jayasumana, Weerawansa, Gamampila should be left alone to destroy themselves. They have no voter base in this country.

If you follow political events in Sri Lanka over the years, you are always surprised at the extent to which MPs or even members of the government change parties! This seems to me to be a common, almost normal process in this country to ensure one's political survival! In my opinion, this behavior is never, or at least rarely, questioned! Some of these parliamentarians obviously change their political beliefs more often than they change their underwear!!! It is a more than strange process how quickly some people are prepared to throw overboard old political beliefs, which were often contrary to their previous thinking, for presumably selfish motives! But, maybe that's all just specific Sri Lankan political culture that not everyone understands!!!

Not only economic downfall even persons famous for pumping and dumping at the stock exchange, turtles died as it was the monsoon season with such a number of deaths and not due to Xpress Pearl disastour at all and other similar and comments and issues. Mr. Rehan Jayawickrama must raise this issue as well. The candidates who have been since the inception, shall not be ignored at any cost.

Hope there's concensus in the SJB when admitting new cross-overs. It shouldn't be arbitrary decision of Sajith.Well respected Stalwarts like Harsha and Eran should have a great say in this to prevent disunity and disintegration of the SJB.
