SL Navy intercepts multiday and fishing trawlers with heroin on Southern Seas

Galle, Jan 20 (Daily Mirror) - Following a special operation mounted by the Sri Lanka Navy, a local multiday fishing trawler and a one-day fishing trawler with a stock of narcotics, suspected to be heroin, have been intercepted on the Southern seas.

The Navy said the seized trawlers and suspects aboard are being escorted to the Galle harbour for onward action.

Good work by the Navy. When Customs/Police officers are given a benefit from the fines etc I believe our Navy officers too receive some similar monitory benefit. If not it is high time to implement a procedure

Without doubt the Navy is the best of the Tri-forces. Except for a few politically appointed sycophants during the war, it has always had the best leadership, fostered and dating back to the colonial era. Thankfully, Anura hasn’t rescued this force from its time honoured traditions. Our compliments to the Commander.
