Close relation of Wickramasinghe-Wijewardene Clan. Nepotism continues in a more subtle way under Yahapalanaya. Give them some more time to consolidate and spread. People will not be able to notice subtle abuse of power which contrasts with the crude ways of the previous regime. Poor voters!

What qualification did Mrs. Bandaranaike has when she became prime minister of Sri Lanka. We need capable people do their job and be loyal to the country. Half the people who are so called carrier diplomats do not know to behave in society. Unfortunately most Sri Lankan are jealous of other peoples well being. Sri Lanka is in this position due to the jealousness of people.

She may not be a "career diplomat" BUT she is an extremely capable and versatile individual who has the capability and more importantly the intelligence to fulfill her duties and do what is right. Yes, she is related to so on and so forth and she may not have doctorates (which anyone can buy nowadays) but she has integrity and the ability to deliver. So good luck to her.

She has not been trained to be diplomat . If you are right all successful businessmen in SL should be ambassaders

On what criteria has this lady been nominated? It's a fact that one has to be a career diplomat or has other qualifications suitable for such a post. It's best to let the public know when nominations are made as high post in business alone is insufficient for a high post in a High Commission.

This lady is a cousin of Mr Ranil Wickremesinghe. I thought we were rid of nepotism. She does not have the credentials for a prestigious job such as this. Surely could not one of our fine career diplomats fill the post adequately or even Rosy Senanayake?

Mrs. Amari Wijewardena is a generous philanthropist, a prominent business person and the grand daughter of Helena Wijewardena. She has done a lot to promote Sri Lankan culture and arts through her generous sponsor ships. She has built up the Rani Sandalwood brand to a point where it is able to compete against international conglomerates. She has also contributed immensely to Buddhism in this country. The appointment of such a prominent and highly capable personality is a commendable achievement by this government. I am certain that she will continue to contribute immensely to the country.

Her only qualification is being related to Ranil Wickramasingha and Ruwan Wijewardana.

Are we running short of experienced diplomats at the Foreign Ministry or is this another effort at Yahapalanaya? Good luck to all those who believed in Wonderland.

She may be a capable lady. But is she a career diplomat or what other merits does she posses for this important position?
