SLC got ICC to suspend Sri Lanka: Sajith

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror)- Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had canvassed for the suspension of Sri Lanka from the ICC, Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa alleged today.

"The SLC officials have betrayed the nation and are traitors. What ICC has been told is that SLC, a democratically elected body is under threat," Premadasa said during a discussion held at the Opposition Leader's office this evening.

"We have also heard that Sri Lankan players are going to be suspended from the Indian Premier League as well," he added.

"The entire nation should rise against the suspension and should play a role in restoring the lost glory where cricket is concerned," he also said.

A very bad precedence. To sack a “democratically and constitutionally elected” body by force and to appoint another bunch of crooks. Should have done an inquiry by a reputed body and taken proper steps to dissolve the board. Then the Parliament could have change the sports law and done this in a decent way.

Wasn't the democratically and constitutionally elected President chased away? Yes, agree with another bunch of crooks. Sadly is there any decent ckean candidates available? Again yes, without taking hasty decisions a proper and thorough investigation and analysis should have been conducted before deciding the next course of action. Is there a clean uncorrept 'reputed' body in the country? If there is one please share the details. It would be helpful for many.

Sajith does not understand the technicality of the issues. He is on the emotions of the SL cricket fans. There is a genuine threat to SLC from the uneducated politionsins. If the cricket board is corrupt there is a way to take action. Just because our team has lost a match missarably you can't chase the crick board. Be censeble and do not play for the gallery.

This way Sri Lankan will protest against Indians and boycott India and India should reacted immediately otherwise this effect all the Indian interests in SL. Now SL thinks India is behind destroying SL cricket. This must stop India otherwise all the damages and losses will come from SL public all the Indian investment in SL. Indian government must intervene to protect suspension of SL cricket and support SL public not few of rogues in SL cricket.
