Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) is struggling to raise a second bail deposit of Australian 200,000 dollars for Sri Lankan Cricketer Danushka Gunathilaka which has to be submitted to a magistrate court early next week to appeal for bail once again, the Daily Mirror learns.
SLC officials have already requested donations from certain individuals and cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga has already handed over a massive sum to go ahead in filing a bail application next week, sources familiar with the case said.
Once the money is raised, it will be submitted as a bail deposit for an appeal for bail to be taken up before the Magistrate Court. The main case will then be taken up on January 12.
SLC last week hired a new lawyer to represent Danushka Gunathilaka in the Australian Court and his lawyers said the cricketer has maintained his innocence in all charges of sexual assault. (JH)

In which world do these cricketers in SL actually live !!!??? Most of the people of Sri Lanka have been suffering tremendously from the economic conditions for months and into next year and the SLC is raising AUD 200,000 in bail for a highly questionable figure suspected of committing criminal acts against women!!! That leaves you speechless!!!

Young and attractive woman (with no other means to have life, are known to look for materials benefits from associating with wealthy or successful man. Those woman go out their way to smile and flirt to connect with hard (young) working men. Huh, where do have evidence of her life destroyed? You know about her first hand in Australia? In Australia there is many cases where woman has done everything wrong in her actions to me, out of anger, spite or for monetary gains. In the West, there are several films about angry woman trapping decent man, including using sex, and sometimes just making accusation for being rejected.

It does not cost A$200,000 for a bail application in Australia. There must be other deals in this fund raising. "All work up to and including a full day in court, from: Courts in Sydney City and Metropolitan Area: $2500 GST. Courts in Other NSW Cities (Gosford, Newcastle, Wollongong etc): $3000 GST. Courts in NSW Country Areas: $3500 GST and travel disbursements if required".

I am aware of the legal system in Australia. It does not cost A$200,000 to submit a bail application - it is no more than $4,000. SLC please make an official statement. Who is stealing money here?

How you know that system so well - have you beaten false sexual assault allegations made against you? I searched online, seeing all this comments about high amount $200,000 and found it depends on any number of things. Saw also Sydney criminal law firms have lawyer who can estimate based on charges. The truth will found out, about bail costs if bail is granted. Our country/government supported officials are doing national service by fighting against the obvious lies by the accuser who has now got the full strength of Australian legal system to attack our man. Maybe even the wicked/yaksa woman may even has accomplice, like her boyfriend to abuse her, and say Danushka did it to blackmail our man.

When bail is granted the truth will be known. The actual loyalty to winning/cricket and our nation, or other country woman is clear from some commentators. Some in our nation always think the white skinned woman are most perfect, which came after the Europeans came here long time ago brainwashed the stupid into believing that. Problem with our culture, too many still think white woman better and more honest than our men.

The SLC should be getting loans for it. I doubt Wanindu Hasaranga would ever donate a massive amount sum. What's the truth about the donations? Is DM reporting accurately, or just putting through hearsay? SLC is known to have enormous revenue, and worst about not putting up bail is having to wait longer in remand. The whole matter about not having money, after they gave so much in gifts/donations recently seems really suspicious.

First, This is the responsibility of Danushka Gunatilleke to raise $200,000. He is an IPL player and I am sure he can raise the money by him self. He got into this trouble by him self because he could not keep his d**k in his pants. This is not the responsibility of the Sri Lanka cricket. Second point, we do not know the bail conditions. If Danushka does not comply with the bail conditions then, somebody is going to loose lot of money. Here you do not need cash. You use a property as the bond. I am sure there are many politicians in SL who own properties in Australia. Third, this is not the first time a Sri Lankan citizen got caught for rape allegations NSW. There were several incidences we know and they had no help from the SL consulate in Sydney. Finally, Today everybody is talking about Danushka. Which is fine with me. How about the other Sri Lankan's who in NSW prisons. Nobody is talking about them. Sri Lankan consulate is useless. No need for a consulate office in Sydney.

If Sri Lankan come on official duty and got accused, Sri Lankan government will help. Maybe the can't win Afghanistan team is getting some anti-erection medicine to make them unable to have sex, but that's then affecting their capability during matches too.

A$200,000 is a massive amount of money in local context and a bail application does not cost more than 3% of the quoted amount. I believe this is not a SLC initiative. Some one is trying to make money using DG and Hasaranga names. Be careful, unless SLC make a public announcement confirming the initiative.

@Mr. Mentally Weakened you are playing apologist to Danushka and questioning the intentions of the woman involved. Even if what you are stating maybe true, she could not have forced Danushka to have sex with her but only enticed him. He was not on a private visit but part of a sports team representing the country. He should have exercised caution and restraint anyway. This assuming he is innocent.

Mr Mentally Weakened Sunday, 13 November 2022 05:51 PM
Why you think anything the woman said is true? We don't have evidence from him that he even had sex, but going along that he did, what's wrong with him to have sex? He was not meeting her during his work time. Are you jealous of successful men being able to bed woman? Too much puritan thinking is what Taliban is like, and see where their impotent team ended up.
